Moein Shayegannia

Optical and Modelling Engineer

Moein joined 3E Nano in 2023 as an Optical and Modelling Engineer. His primary focus is on the optical design of low-emissivity (low-e) coatings and the optical modeling of insulated glazing units (IGUs). He utilizes software such as Window, code, and COMSOL Multiphysics to model and analyze various parameters that are crucial to the performance of IGUs. In addition, Moein possesses expertise in the sputter deposition of thin films and conducts in-house sputtering of low-e coatings, anti-reflective coatings, and barrier coatings for the purpose of testing IGUs.

Moein completed his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto in 2020. His doctoral research focused on developing nanosensors for the detection of molecular species. Following the completion of his PhD, Moein continued his academic pursuits as a postdoctoral fellow. During this time, he successfully led the writing of multiple project proposals and grants, accumulating a total value exceeding $1 million.
